Project context
Remote teaching tools often let students watch experiments, but observation alone does not reproduce the feedback loop of manipulating lab equipment. This project focused on making remote experiment control practical, visible, and repeatable.Back to Projects

Remote Chemistry Lab Assistant
National finalist projectSystem designer and builder
Role overview
Shaofu built a 500 x 440 x 300 mm Remote Chemistry Experiment Assistant that lets a user connect to the device over Wi-Fi, view the experiment through an ESP32-CAM stream, and send commands to an Arduino-controlled robotic arm.Technical scope
- Designed the control chain from user device to camera feedback to Arduino actuation.
- Integrated a 4-DOF robotic arm with a lead-screw structure for controlled experiment handling.
- Tested the operator loop so visual feedback and mechanical motion remained understandable during remote use.
Outcome
- Created a working prototype for remote real-time experiment participation.
- Reduced the gap between passive remote viewing and active laboratory interaction.
- Presented the system as a national finalist project with education-focused applications.
